Claybelly - Functional Ceramics by Tina Santucci

Tina Santucci Profile

For the past five years I have focused on throwing clay. This focus began while attending Illinois State University and studying under Tom Malone. After graduation, this focus continued while I also guided both adults and children in their growth in clay at a ceramic studio in Normal, Illinois.

In 2004, I moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. The move has provided the opportunity to work with another community of potters through a local studio and the Clay Alliance of Cincinnati. These connections have allowed constant contact with clay and people, two elements that aid my growth in ceramics.

The process of working in clay — making, forming, firing and glazing — brings enjoyment to me. Clay can be both extremely fragile yet very strong. My functional work is a celebration of every day occasions — every day is a gift.
